On Sunday Gowerton invited Loughor to Victoria Road on a very pleasant sunny autumn morning. A game of running rugby was on the cards and as a spectator this was not a disappointment with the ball being thrown widely around the ground. Gowerton came out as the positive team and took the game to Loughor. The Gowerton forwards were immense in the set piece leaving Loughor stunned and shocked! Outstanding back running was in Gowerton's best interest when Cameron Davies, Matthew Williams and Liam Morgan ran in some excellent tries. Half time score was 24 - 0.
Some excellent running from Loughor brought the score back to 29 - 7 with a try from Scott Rees and Joe Harris, but Gowerton were far too strong and determined for Loughor and took the game back to Loughor with more tries from Jack Porter, Liam Morgan (who had a hatrick) and David Dudley-Jones. Together with some excellent kicking from Matthew Williams the score line continued to increase. But towards the end of the game a bit of high spirits between the two teams left the linesman Dean Thomas flying through the air and pounding to the ground. The game finished with Gowerton feeling very proud of their performance with a final score of 53 points to 14. Well done to both teams for an outstanding game of rugby and thanks to Mike Bulpitt, match day referee.

Bonymaen 39 Gowerton 0
Gowerton travelled to Bonymaen on a windy day Bony immediately took dominance with some strong forward play resulting in a very well worked try within the early minutes of the game. Subsequently Bony took control of the first half but although there was some strong defending from Gowerton Bony secured 4 tries.
Second half Gowerton upped their game and challenged for a try, however Bonymaen's defence was superb and prevented an excellent effort by Liam Morgan to put points on the board. Although a disappointing result for Gowerton, there were outstanding performances from James Jones and Ashley Watkins.
Well played to Bonymaen for a dominant first half and a competitive second half.

Vardre Match report 12 Sep
Another excellent win for Vardre beating Gowerton 23-10 away, making it two wins out of two. Well done boys!
In what was a hard but good spirited and superb game to watch, Gowerton started the strongest catching Vardre cold with an early try by Matthew Williams, Gowerton continued to put pressure on the Vardre defense but Vardre held firm, and with the Vardre pack dominating the scrums and Jack Wathen in great form at the line out Vardre slowly came back into the game. Vardre hit back when their man of the match Christian Evans turned over the ball in his own 22 and run the length of the field to equalize. Vardre then scored a second through strong running full back Scott Bevan. Vardre then went further in front with powerful number eight Rhys Thomas driving over for Vardre's third try. But with the Gowerton backs playing excellent rugby and their blindside flanker in outstanding form they soon replied with a second try of their own by winger Cameron Davies reducing the deficit to just five points at half time. Vardre were forced to defend hard for long periods of the second half with Christian Evans turning over the ball time after time, before outside half Lewis Humphreys put over a penalty to put Vardre 8 points clear. Vardre then put the game safe by scoring their fourth try through hard working flanker Luke Curtis.
Fair play to Gowerton they are an excellent team with some outstanding players and could well feel unlucky to have lost, they will be a hard team to beat this season.
Tries Gowerton Matthew Williams 1, Cameron Davies 1. Vardre Christian Evans 1, Scott Bevan 1, Rhys Thomas 1, Luke Curtis 1, Penalty Lewis Humphreys 1. Vardre man of the match Christian Evans.

Gowerton 10 Vardre 23
Gowerton welcomed Vardre for the first home game of the season and started strongly with a good try for the home team by Matthew Williams. Vardre hit back with a try of their own and a thrilling encounter ensued. Vardre took the lead with a couple of tries capitalising in Gowerton errors but Gowerton then hit back with a well worked try scored by Cameron Davies on the wing after some excellent handling, reducing the deficit to 15 - 10 at half time. Vardre eventually opened the scoring with a penalty in a tight 2nd half. Gowerton continued to fight hard with Ashley Watkins, David Dudley-Jones & James Jones to the fore.
A credible performance from Gowerton who gave a strong Vardre side a run for their money. The boys can hold their heads high. A little naivity and silly errors probably cost them the game and they were disappointed at the final whistle

South Gower 29 - Gowerton 29
Gowerton travelled to South Gower for the first match of the new season. A full compliment of 22 players showed great team spirit throughout the match. South Gower opened the scoring with 2 very quick tries, but the determination of Gowerton did not let South Gower get too far ahead, with excellent tries from Matthew Williams & Jack Porter and also converted by Matthew Williams. South Gower then came back with a very good worked try.
After the re-start a rejuvinated Gowerton pack were very competitive and scrumaged very well and in doing so took the game to South Gower. As a unit we played as a team and did not let our heads drop and came back with a vengance., with great tries from David Dudley-Jones and Ashley Watkins and converted by Jack Petherbridge. The game was brought to an end with a consolation try for South Gower, in doing so a draw was a fair result for both teams. As the first match of the season it was a pleasure for both spectators and players alike to be part of an outstanding game of rugby.
Training Tuesday 6 pm prompt.
